A CFRN® is a certified flight registered nurse designation. This designation is for registered nurses who wish to work in air ambulances or air medical transport on helicopters or planes.
Yes, registered nurses get hired by airlines for various reasons. Paid medical escorts are typically registered nurses and fly fixed-wing transports domestically and internationally.
A flight RN, or flight registered nurse, is a nurse who works on a medical transportation team, such as an air ambulance or helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) team. They provide pre-hospital care and transport critically ill or injured patients by air or ground to a medical facility. They work closely with paramedics and other medical professionals to provide life-saving care, assess and manage patients’ conditions, administer medications, and provide patient education during transport. They may also assist in operating the vehicle or serve as a liaison between the medical team and the receiving hospital.
Four years.
Test question totals may change. However, one needs to score 108 of the total 150 possible questions. That would be a passing score percentage of 72%.
CFRN® CE, which stands for Certified Flight Registered Nurse Continuing Education, is a program that offers continuing education for flight nurses. The program provides online courses and resources designed to help flight nurses stay current with the latest knowledge and skills in their field. The courses are designed to meet the continuing education requirements of the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN). Participants who successfully complete the courses and pass the corresponding exams will receive continuing education credits, which can be used to maintain their certifications.
CFRN stands for “Certified Flight Registered Nurse”. It is an advanced certification provided by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN®) to registered nurses (RNs) who work in aeromedical transport. To be eligible for the certification, RNs must have at least two years of experience as flight nurses and pass an exam that tests their knowledge and skills in areas such as aeromedical transport, critical care, and emergency nursing. The certification is valid for four years and can be renewed by completing continuing education (CE) requirements or passing another exam.
